The Rundown
Electric SUVs are making waves as they continue to produce top of the line EVs. One upcoming vehicle is the Honda Prologue, aimed to take off where the Honda Clarity failed. One other top example of the new focus on electric SUVs is the Mustang Mach-e. While this car has made waves for its name, it also has been ordered by so many people that Ford has had to pause other electric ventures so they can produce enough Mustang Mach-es to meet the demand. This SUV is extremely popular, and Ford completely nailed it with the design of the Mach-e. The two are both impressive SUVs, but the Mach-e delivers in a couple key areas where the Prologue does not. Since mechanical aspects will be fairly similar, the difference comes with some serious tech upgrades in the Mustang Mach-e and Ford reliability.
Mustang Mach-e outclasses Upcoming Honda Prologue
Honda is following its unsuccessful foray into the EV market with the upcoming Prologue after the debacle of the Honda Clarity. The Clarity was the first Honda EV offering, and the EV was discontinued after only a few years, and the sedan terminated in 2021. The Prologue provides more mass appeal and is run on an SUV platform as opposed to a family sedan. The Honda Prologue definitely delivers but unfortunately falls just short of the famous Ford Mustang Mach-e. This Mustang may not be a favorite among muscle car lovers, but it sure is a fan favorite amongst electric SUV aficionados. The Mach-e has sold so much, Ford has put other electric projects such as the electric Explorer on hold, in order to produce enough Mustang Mach-e models to meet demand. The Mustang Mach-e has one of the nicest interiors in the class. The Mach-e has an appealing dash and center console. The Prologue, unfortunately builds off the already spartan Honda interior and feels more like a run of the mill SUV. From EVs we have grown to expect a standard of excellence and modernization, this is where the Mach-e excels, offering modern creature comforts and the sleek interior design of a modern EV.
Ford Mustang Mach-e is here now, Honda Prologue to be released in 2024
The Ford Mustang Mach-e hit the road in 2021, and since then is slowly becoming one of the best-selling EVs on the market. The Honda Prologue will not arrive until 2024, and is a joint venture between GM and Honda. It is easy to see right away the design styles of the two companies in the Honda Prologue, but unfortunately joint venture vehicles do not always have the best track records. Many joint venture vehicles do not last particularly long, and that is the fear for the Honda Prologue. The Ford Mustang became an instant fan favorite. The worry for the Prologue is that it does not provide the fun experience the Mach-e provides or other electric SUVs provide right from day one.
Summary
The Honda Prologue, while intriguing, does not deliver. With constant improvements in mileage and range, the Mach-e will be far ahead of the Honda Prologue by the time it hits the market. The Mach-e also delivers effortless fun and style, with riveting performance.
